Water Fun to Beat Georgia Heat

Need some cool and refreshing water fun this summer to beat the heat in Georgia? We have just what you are looking for! Tubing, kayaking, water slide, hot tub cabins, and indoor & outdoor swimming pools are waiting for you all in one spectacular location at the Coosawattee River Resort in Ellijay. Whether the excitement of a monster water slide or the relaxation of a float down the Coosawattee River, we have the way for you to soothe that sweltering summer sizzle.

Let’s start with the tubing and kayaking: Located just outside the Eagle Mountain Gate of the Coosawattee River Resort, The Coosawattee River Tubing Company offers a cool and refreshing 2-1/2 hour inner tube float down the Coosawattee River. The tube, life vest, and to-and-from shuttle service are included in the $12.00 admission price. Trips book quickly so availability inquiry and reservation(s) are advised. Kayak trips are also offered by reservation. Each kayak trip lasts 1-1/2 hours and is $25.00 per trip which includes equipment and shuttle to-and-from the river.

Also located just outside the Eagle Mountain Gate of the Coosawattee River Resort is the Monster Water Slide. This slide isn't your ordinary, run-of-the-mill water slide-- this monstrosity is billed as the tallest inflatable water slide in the world! The slide towers 45 feet above the ground with 41 steps that lead up a steep incline to a lofty platform covered by a canopy. With an all-day-pass, riders can take as many exhilarating trips down the towering slide as they want. What an adventurous way to cool off during the soaring summer temperatures!

Now onto the hot tub cabins: The Villas at Coosawattee located within the gates of the Coosawattee River Resort features four person hot tub villas with affordable prices, comfortable accommodations, and plenty to do for every member of your entourage. Besides the restful and relaxation of the hot tub villas, the rentals boast peaceful river views, large decks, spectacular mountain views, and fireplaces. Throughout the property, abundant amenities are easily accessible, such as the cool and refreshing swimming pools.

Speaking of the pool, inside the gates of the Coosawattee River Resort are three pools that are sure to cool down even the hottest this summer. The first is the indoor Junior Olympic-sized pool with 8-feet at the deep-end and a large shallow end for the small ones at the Recreation Center. The pool is enclosed with a sunning deck outside the sliding glass doors. A generously sized kiddy pool is also available at the Recreation Center. The second pool is Pool II which is the smallest and quietest of the pools with a 10-foot deep end. This spot is a calm and peaceful place to relax. The Teen Center features the third pool which is three to five feet deep throughout. The location is family friendly with kids from one to one hundred enjoying the sun and fun. A kiddy pool is also available for toddlers and babies.

With all of these cool and refreshing options, beating the summer heat is a synch! With a short drive up to the North Georgia Mountains, the sweltering heat can be chilled with some water fun.
